The hill station of Khajjiar is situated in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh where it is exactly located on a small plateau with a stream-fed lake in the middle that has been covered over with weeds. As per its history, it is strongly related to the rulers of Chamba. In the 6th century, the valley was ruled by the local Rajput rulers. In the medieval period, the region was under Mughal Empire and later ruled by Sikh rulers. After the rule of British it became a part of Himachal Pradesh when India got its Independence.

Being the most charming spot in the Himalayas, Khajjiar offers many places of interest and activities which will sure leave many memories in your heart, which includes, Khajjiar Lake, the scenic beauty of this lake is in the emerald hills and cotton clouds. It is surrounded with cedar forests and small water streams that open in its cleft. If luck supports, one can also have a glimpse of Mount Kailash from the lake. Additionally, a number of thrilling recreational sports activities are also available there; Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, it houses wide range of flora and fauna such as leopard, bear, deer, langur, jackal, Himalayan Black Marten, Barking Goral and several beautiful birds can be spotted here. The area can be used as a spot for trekking, picnics, and nature walks as well; Lord Shiva Statue, this statue is among the tallest structure of Himachal Pradesh, standing on a height of 85ft. from the ground. The statue looks more charming in winters as it gets covered with snow; Golden Devi Temple, the temple derives its name from the golden dome it houses. It is situated near khajjar Lake. There is also a golf course besides it; Khajji Nag Temple, this temple is devoted to the Naga, the lord of serpents and also houses some idols of snake. Apart from this it holds many images which depict Pandavas defeating the Kauravas in the epic battle of Mahabharata. Other than this, the place offers adventurous activities like horse-riding, Paragliding and Zorbing. One can also have fun while shopping in the famous market of Himachal Pradesh.
