Dr. Vij explained the key benefits of open standards & how it will bring harmony to the fragmented IoT industry. Dr. Vij also stated that “Without solving the interoperability problem, industry cannot monetize IoT”. Dr. Aloknath De, CTO, Samsung R&D, Bengaluru moderated the panel with representatives from Nasscom IoT CoE, Intel India, Indian Institute of Science &IoTrek Technology. The panel discussed how open standards can play a role in faster IoT adoption in India. Also, OCF organized a workshop on “How to build interoperable IoT devices with OCF & IoTivity: A Hands on primer”. Samsung Artik IoT development boards were distributed to the registered participants. The exhibition booth showcased wide range of OCF compliant Samsung smart devices (including a Family Hub refrigerator, smart washing machine, air purifier, robot vacuum cleaner, air conditioner& Galaxy S8). Samsung demonstrated how these appliances can be controlled using Samsung Connect app on the smartphone. |
