The temple is opened in the month of last week of April or First week of May on the day Akashya tritIya and till October the devotees visit the shrine. The temple is close after two days of Diwali on the day of Bhai Duj. Badrinath temple is divided into three parts like- Garbha Grih, Darshan Mandap and Sabha Mandap. Due to Heavy Snowfall the temple is closed but the idol is brought in joshimath town in the Vasudev temple. The next six month the idol is worshiped in Joshimath to till the end of winters. Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath ji. Badrinath is one of panch badris and other for are- Old Badri, Yogdhyan badri, Bhavishya Badri, Adi Badri situated near the Badrinath.
